CHRISTOPHER CHIJIOKE ONYEMENONU is a native of Umuarugwu, Amainyinta Autonomous Community in Ihitte/Uboma L.G.A. of Imo State. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Technology and Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry from the Unique University of PortHarcourt.

He is a Chartered Chemist of fifteen years standing, having been inducted as a member of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria(ICCON) in 2007. He is also a member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN).

He joined the service of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri as a Lecturer l in 2004 and rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer in 2015. He was Head, Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry (October 2010 - December 2012), Dean, School of Industrial and Applied Sciences (SIAS) (December 2012 - January 2015), Director, Industrial Placement Centre(IPC) (August 2016 - March 2017), Director, Technological Entrepreneurship Development Centre (TEDC) (March 2017 - August 2021).

He was appointed Director, Academic Matters in March 2021 prior to his appointment as Deputy Rector (Academic) on 3rd September 2021. He was a member of the 13th Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Nekede, and a current member of the 14th Governing Council of the same Institution.

As an academic, he has numerous publications in reputable journals. He has a passion for SERVICE TO HUMANITY for which he has received multiple awards. He is married and his marriage is blessed with children.
